In a defensive slugfest for the ages, the Paris Musketeers etched their names into the European League of Football history books with a 6–0 shutout victory over the Stuttgart Surge in Week 2 of the 2025 season. The win, played out before an electric crowd at Stade Robert Bobin, marked the lowest-scoring game in league history—and the first time the Surge have been held scoreless since their rise in 2023.
Paris wasted no time setting the tone. Late in the first quarter, quarterback Jaylon Henderson connected with French wide receiver Rémi Bertellin for the game's only touchdown. A missed extra point kept the score at six, but from there, it was all defense.
Enter Jack Del Rio. The former NFL head coach and defensive guru had his Musketeers flying to the ball, stifling Stuttgart at every turn. Paris’ front seven overwhelmed the Surge offensive line, collapsing the pocket and hounding quarterback Reilly Hennessey into hurried throws and critical errors. Edge rusher Stanley Zeregbe led the charge with relentless pressure and multiple tackles for loss.
The secondary did its part too. Cornerbacks Jamalcom Liggins and Kevin Fortes locked down Stuttgart’s receivers, playing with physicality and discipline. Stuttgart had no answer, converting just 4 of 20 third downs and coming up empty on every red-zone trip.
The exclamation point came in the fourth quarter: a goal-line stand on fourth-and-short that saw Paris’ front seven stonewall a desperate Surge run. Nine punts. Zero points allowed. Total dominance.
The Musketeers’ identity under Del Rio is crystal clear—gritty, disciplined, and defensively elite. While most of the league is chasing high-powered offenses, Paris proved that old-school toughness still wins games.
