FAQs

  • The European League of Football was founded in 2020 and is the international league for American football in Europe. 17 teams from 9 nations will compete in the 2023 season. In 2022, there were 12 teams from five countries represented in the league. The European League of Football has a vision to expand the league to 24 European teams by 2025.

In the 2022 season, the league was divided into 3 divisions: Northern Conference, Central Conference and Southern Conference. Each team played a total of 12 regular season games (six home and six away) against the other three teams in its own division and across divisions. The season takes place from June to September.

  • The 2023 season of the European League of Football will consist of seventeen teams from nine nations: Hamburg Sea Devils, Leipzig Kings, Berlin Thunder, Wrocław Panthers, Frankfurt Galaxy, Stuttgart Surge, Vienna Vikings, Raiders Tirol (venue: Innsbruck), Barcelona Dragons (Venue: Reus), Cologne Centurions and Rhein Fire (venue: Duisburg), Milano Seamen, Hungarian Enthroners (Szekesfehervar), Helvetic Guards (Zurich), Munich Ravens, Prague Lions, and Paris Musketeers.

  • The 2023 season will be held over 17 weeks. In American football, the season is divided into two distinct phases: the regular season and the playoffs. The regular season of the European League of Football consists of 14 weeks (June – September 2022) in which teams play 12 games. The three division winners and the next three highest at large teams qualify for the playoffs, which take place after the regular season. The final, the European League of Football Championship Game, will take place September 24th in Duisburg, Germany. There has already been over 32,000 tickets sold for the game. The Paris Musketeers will play their first game on June 3rd at Cologne, and open the home schedule June 10th at Stade Jean Bouin against the Stuttgart Surge.

  • "All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall.” wrote Alexandre Dumas, in the most widely read novel in French History, The Three Musketeers. The legends of Paris are rich with Musketeers. Once the most elite military unit, later the inspiration for the greatest adventure story ever written, the Musketeers embody all the values that a football team representing Paris aspires to be: unity, humanity, valor, strength, peace, and justice. All are foundational to the dynamic, diverse, and culturally singular 'Ville de Lumiere'.

  • The home of the Musketeers is Stade Jean-Bouin, which is the benchmark in the American Football stadium landscape in Europe and sets the standard for other venues of its kind across the continent. The 20,000-seat state-of-the-art facility located in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris directly next to Parc de Princes (PSG) and Roland Garros (French Open Tennis). The historic venue, opened in 1925, was renovated and expanded in 2013, and serves as the home stadium of Stade Francais Rugby team, FC Versailles, and the Paris Saint-Germin Feminines football team. The arena is structured to create a distinct American Football atmosphere as fans in the front row are just 25 feet from the sidelines. Its dynamic roof and exoskeleton is a curving structure that wraps the entire arena in an elegant metal shell to create an architectural statement of power and elegance.
