Musketeers vs. Raiders Preview: Time to Bounce Back

It is often said that great teams are defined by how they respond to adversity. That is exactly the challenge facing the Paris Musketeers this week. After suffering a heavy defeat to the Munich Ravens last Saturday, the Musketeers must respond immediately against the Tirol Raiders, an Austrian side still searching for its first victory of the season.

The Paris Musketeers looking to make amends

Last Saturday’s game had all the ingredients of a celebration: a prestigious opponent, a packed stadium, and the opportunity for Paris to remain undefeated. Unfortunately, what began as a promising evening turned into a nightmare after halftime, as the Musketeers conceded 31 second-half points and fell to a crushing 41–7 defeat.

Despite this disappointing performance, the Paris Musketeers are far from throwing in the towel. This Paris roster possesses enough talent and experience to ensure that the Week 4 loss is remembered as nothing more than a bump in the road during a long European campaign. Once again, the Paris defense demonstrated its ability to slow down the most explosive offense in Europe. It is worth noting that at halftime last Saturday, the Ravens had scored only 10 points, a season-low for Munich through the first four weeks of the 2026 EFA season.

Offensively, the Musketeers are still searching for complete consistency. There is no reason for concern, however, as every football fan knows that offensive units generally take longer to develop chemistry and establish rhythm. The running game remains capable of producing significant yardage, while the receiving corps, led by the in-form Hugo Tekedam, has shown the ability to create explosive plays at any moment. The key will simply be eliminating the mistakes that proved costly against the Ravens, particularly turnovers such as fumbles and interceptions, in order to deliver a cleaner overall performance.

The Raiders: A talented team searching for answers

A perennial contender in European football through both the ELF and now the EFA since 2022, the Tirol Raiders have endured a difficult start to the 2026 season. The Austrian franchise currently sits fifth in the standings with an 0–3 record.

To be fair, the schedule has offered little mercy. The Raiders opened their campaign against the Munich Ravens before traveling to face the Nordic Storm. Within the span of two weeks, Tirol faced arguably the two strongest teams in the EFA, a daunting way to begin life in a new European competition. The Raiders hoped to finally get their season on track in Week 4 with a home matchup against the Frankfurt Galaxy, but that breakthrough never came as they suffered a 21–5 defeat.

However, Tirol’s disappointing record should not overshadow the quality of its roster. Quarterback Steven Krajewski, who joined the Raiders this season, currently ranks third in the league in passing yards with 644 yards through the first four weeks. His favorite target has been Aaron Jackson, who sits second among all EFA receivers in receiving yards this season. Defensively, the Raiders also feature several standout playmakers, including Jan Mayerhofer, Precious Ogbevoen, and Kobe Hylton, among others.

Pack Bauer and support the Musketeers!

Nothing will come easy for the Paris Musketeers this Saturday. Although the Raiders have yet to win a game this season, they are eager to turn the undeniable talent on their roster into victories as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the Musketeers are determined to get back on track and leave the Munich loss firmly in the past.

One thing, however, is certain: the Paris Musketeers will need your support.

There is no better way to rebuild confidence than by seeing the fans in the stands, hearing their voices, and feeling their energy push the team forward.
